We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
What kind of world would we live in if we saw each other’s soul instead of a physical body? What would that soul look like?
I believe the soul is a tiny spark that we have the power to fan into a brilliant flame of light. As we open our heart to love one another and feed that love with kindness and generosity, we increase our feelings of joy. That’s what makes us shine brighter. Have you ever met someone who glowed? I have been fortunate to meet a great number of people who actually shone. I was drawn to them immediately. They emanated the seductive power of love and joyfulness.

I like to think of myself as a “global seeker” who strives to find similarities instead of differences. In doing so, I came across quotations from different religions that all spoke the same truth. I would like to share some of those quotes with you.
Rumi, born in 1207 – 1273 was a Sufi Scholar living in, what is now called Afghanistan. Sufism is a branch of Islam concerned with developing spirituality. Rumi has also been dubbed “a genius poet.” Here is one of my favourite Rumi quotes:
When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.
Rumi

I have always been fascinated by Judaism especially considering it is one of the two oldest religions in the world. It is based on an ancient Abrahamic religion with the Torah as its foundation.
These quotes from The Talmud speak to me:
The joy in your heart begets song.
The Divine Spirit does not reside in any except the joyful heart.
How often do you start humming or break into song when you feel loved and loving. When life is good and you are full of joy, music is a wonderful vehicle of expression.

Hinduism is the other oldest religion in the world.
The essence of Hinduism is the same of all true religions: Bhakti or pure love of God and genuine compassion for all beings.
Radhanath Swami
A spiritually illumed soul lives in the world, yet is never contaminated by it.
Bhaskarananda
Christianity — The recently sainted Mother Theresa is quoted as follows:
Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.
Buddhism Quotes taken from 150 Buddha Quotes
The way is not the sky. The way is in the heart!
If we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people who drive us crazy, can be our teacher. Pema Chödrön
On that note, OSHO sums it all up for us:
Friendship is the purest love. It is the highest form of love where nothing is asked for, no conditions, where one simply enjoys giving.
When you open the “Cosmic Door” – you will know for sure we are all from the very same Source – we are all one….
